Good Morning John!
To wish you good morning
In my favorite words to tell
With Blessing and Joy
And a friendly yell.
“Good Morning, Captain,
Hello, how do you do?
Wake up the Sunshine
To share this day with you!”
I hope these words
Bring back younger days
And a little of the happiness
Of a youngster at play!
Blessings
Lisa
ps I don't know if you are familiar with the middle verse, but it was the opening song from a kids show called Captain Kangaroo when I was a kid!

John,
I can only write straight from my heart, because that is all i know. I am not the wordsmith that is always seeking that perfect word, because my language skills are good for what I do, they are not extended. I love to read poetry and I admire poetry like yours and some others on Gather who can say so much in just a few words.
Bless You
Lisa

John,
Thank you for your kind ping. Maybe some day I will be able to actually grab and hold on, meanwhile, I just write me. LOL
Life in this world may not be going well, and with the darkness in charge, it won't for a while, but we have sunshine, life, and love which are gifts from God that the darkness can't touch!
I am here
And JOY is back
My heart is beating
No love I lack
To see the full poem JOY!
Love and Blessings my friend!

Glad that you enjoyed it. Where in NJ was it held? Was it like one of those concerts in the park, where you bring your blanket and listen to the performers, or was it more formal as in being held in an auditorium?
